I’d be curious to see a Chris Dalla Riva analysis breaking down the relative, popularity of every color in song titles. Blue, black, red, and white must be the most popular, but it would be interesting to see how the others fall out.
My mom used to sing me the Rainbow Connection when I was very little and so I passed that down to my kids at bedtime as well but also added in a song by They Might Be Giants about a blue canary in the outlet by the lightswitch who watches over you. "Birdhouse In Your Soul."
Purple Rain.
A couple off the top of my head:
New Order- Blue Monday
Jawbreaker- Sea Foam Green
REM- Orange Crush
Ned's Atomic Dustbin- Grey Cell Green
Ned's! That one had slipped my mind. Thank you. Love that album. 'God Fodder' heh.
I love everything about this.
Cotton Jones - Blood Red Sentimental Blues
Miles Davis - Blue in Green
Prince - Pink Cashmere
Carl Perkins - Blue Suede Shoes
Tom Waits - Blue Valentine
Blue Valentine makes an appearance!
Are we making a rainbow? If so, I'd like to also add:
Mood Indigo - Duke Ellington (or Mingus or Nina or Monk, whatever your preference)
Ultraviolet - U2 (very, VERY occasionally, my favorite song on that album)
Oh, duh, I forgot it's a color wheel. So skip the U2.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Red Right Hand
Donovan - Mellow Yellow
Tom Jones - Green Green Grass of Home
Los Bravos - Black Is Black
Prince - Purple Rain
Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
Beatles - Yellow Submarine
Wayne Newton - Red Roses For A Blue Lady (I don’t really care for the song but it fits)
Leonard Cohen -- Famous Blue Raincoat
Andy Irvine & Paul Brady -- Autumn Gold ( https://genius.com/Andy-irvine-and-paul-brady-autumn-gold-lyrics )
Marina and the Diamonds - Blue
Kermit the Frog - It's Not Easy Being Green
Prince - Purple Rain
Blue Oyster Cult - Black Blade ( a double shot of color)
The Green Manalishi, by either Judas Priest or Fleetwood Mac

Sixteen Blue - The Replacements
Good one.
A bit literal, but:
The Spectrum Song - Professor Ludwig Von Drake (https://youtu.be/arZRYbtb20M?si=M_2JiOvLHbztbAuv)
Ha!

Two of my absolute favorites. I sang Rainbow to my kids as well. Great to have you here, Chase.
Van Morrison -Caravan
"Time" by Tom Waits.
They should weep when they think of him.
