My trip to Knoxville included a stop along the way to visit to a Civil War Battlefield on Fathers' Day, and an impromptu brewery gig thanks to me and my big mouth.
Breweries are always a solid stop. In addition to the beer, you're almost assured of meeting a cool person or two at the bar if you are willing to engage.
Love this! I was going to mention way back that some of the breweries here do a lot of live music shows pretty regularly. It’s mostly local people, and not something you would travel for, but more like what you did there, which sounds like it went well. Keep that in mind as you travel if you want to add shows in (not saying specifically in my area, but most areas have breweries these days).
I played a few breweries on this tour. I enjoy playing them for the most part. The audiences are not as engaged as they are at house concerts, but the brewery gigs often feature at least a small guarantee and are often great hosts.
Man, I don't know why but when I'm an out-of-town visitor I always seem to end up in a local brewery.
And you're right, the owner/operators always seem to be genuinely good people. Good piece, Matty.

You’re in the saddle of this guy’s youth, Matty! Have some scrapple and grits, and don’t forget to put peanuts in your soda pop, Pop!
