I spent a pair of days in The Land Of Enchantment and was treated to new friends, a truly delightful roadside attraction, a walk through history in the sunshine, and a brilliant house show.
So grateful that we got to hang out and become friends IRL! Thanks for leaving us with some swag and glad to hear the Land of Enchantment held some enchanted moments for you!
“…hit the sheets reminded of the power of this work and the way it affords folks the opportunity to get together in a single space. My work is based on songwriting and storytelling. The touring itself is an act of community building and social reinforcement that might be just as valuable as the songs themselves.”
That says it all Matt. The whole experience I had with you pointed to this sense of things. Community and connection are the most important things we can invest our time in. What an amazing night🤘🤘
Thanks a million J. It's pretty wild to have chased a dream and finding a purpose inside of that. Hard to believe this is all real. Love you my friend.
Thanks for taking us along on this journey, Matty. You lift my spirits! I love hearing about your time with Suzie and Scott and seeing you three together. They are wonderful people!
My memories of New Mexico, Matty, are similarly fond, both of the people and the beauty of the land! I road-tripped (from Austin, TX) to Albuquerque and Santa Fe in the summer of '09 (about when Michael Jackson died....we followed it all on the TV in our Best Western!). I visited both Bandalier and Petroglyph Nat'l Monuments while in Alb! Mom couldn't make those excursions, but, on alternate days, I'd plan museum visits and other pleasant and more-maneuverable indoor venues for me, her and her wheelchair!
I was pretty much in search of the Native American experience, having read up on their history, and its reality vs. their depictions in Hollywood productions! In 2011, I attended Quanah Parker's annual Family Reunion in Quanah, TX (near Wichita Falls, just south of the Red River). That year was the centennial of the Comanche Chief's 1911 passing! A story for another time!

Thanks so much, Amy. It was a treat to spend time with you and Dave. Looking forward to next time, for sure.
New Mexico sounds like it's been on of the high points on this trip! So happy you, Dave & Amy were able to connect!
Thanks so much, Kevin. NM was a true highlight of the trip.

They are the very best kind of folks. I feel so fortunate to be their friend. And yours as well.
Loved reading this as a former Albuquerquean. I miss NM and the wonderful people!
They sure took care of me whilst I was there. And Tinkertown is a goddamned treat.
It was great to hang out, Matty! Glad to hear the Los Alamos show was terrific. Looking forward to the next time!
Thanks so much Dave. I really enjoyed the time together. Can't wait to do it all again soon, my friend.
