Give that the 1970s were essentially America's second golden era (after the 1930s) picking just one from these is an absolute nightmare, and there are many others you could have included in the tournament. :)
I can't believe you put Godfather and Last Picture Show against each other. That's just wrong. Personally, LPS was way more influential to me, and a film I would watch way more often than Godfather. Come on, peeps! Don't let this end up being Star Wars vs. Godfather! (I'm also mad that you have Annie Hall against Star Wars coming soon....)
This is a fun one. 70s Hollywood cinema is my favorite (although the 90s was also an exciting time). Pretty sure I know how this bracket challenge is going to end, but there will be many tough choices along the way. Rocky v Breaking Away was the first of them for me.
I love doing these. I had my own where we crowned The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King as the best Best Picture Oscar winner of the 2000s last month. Can't wait to see who comes out on top for this one.

I have to admit to never seeing Slap Shot! All the President's Men is a great film though!
