Lovely piece, Matty. I missed The Chills early on as they were lost to me in the wave of great bands in the late 80s/early 90s. I connected with them when Silver Bullets came out in 2015 , which I got from Emusic (how's that for a dated reference?!). That was my gateway for going back to check out the earlier records. So good in such an understated way, similar to The Go-Betweens in that regard. Cheers!

Thank you so much, Dave. Silver Bullets is a terrific record. I wonder if a number of new fans came in to the fold when they reformed and toured with that album.

It's great that you found them, even if it was later on. I love the Go Between as well. Have you seen the docs about Martin Phillipps and the Go Between? They're both quite good.

I'll add those both to the list -- thanks for the heads up! I've been on a music doc tear recently, watching ones about The Minutemen, Fugazi, Mekons, and some old Police footage I'd never seen.
