Hannah and I navigate disgruntled spice miners, separatist movements, and we learn to accept the idea of Jar Jar Binks as an elected representative as we take in episode two of the 'Star Wars' saga.
You guys missed the entire scene where Padme explains how one is only queen for three years, and how the government tried to change the rules so she could stay in longer, but she declined so she could better serve her people in the Senate. It definitely gets explained.
I thought this film better cemented the trade war and separatist movement, and made clear how and why the stormtroopers exist. Plus the action is way better. The arena scene alone is way better than the entirety of Phantom.
It's not good by any stretch, but it's a damn sight better than the made-for-6-year-olds pablum that is Phantom.
The best film of the prequels is yet to come, however.
Clearly we did miss that section. Thanks for clearing it up. I am still incredibly confused at this parliamentary system they have in the Republic. Voting for Queens. Three year terms. The fact that they allowed a Senator Jar Jar Binks. I am flummoxed by all of it.
