Bracket Challenge - Steven Spielberg's Greatest Film - Round Two (Part Two)
Round two matchups continue with a beloved sequel, a masterpiece that seeks to know if we are alone in the universe, a dense and difficult classic, and a brilliant sci-fi adaptation.

The poll that I recently posted on the greatest film in the Spielberg canon sparked a great deal of a discussion and a ton of questions. You’ve all clearly got myriad feelings on the subject, and so do I for that matter. So, let’s have a good old fashioned tournament, and pick the favorite Spielberg film for the WAIM community.
With a bit of research and some objective appraisal, I have seeded the 32 films presented here from top to bottom. These seeds take into account my own personal tastes as well as your comments on the poll from last week and any number of lists to be found in cyberspace on the issue.
Round two kicked off this week with a pair of matchups that saw number one seed and overall favorite, Jaws roll over The Post by winning 94% of the vote. Munich also advanced to the Elite 8 with a resounding victory over Lincoln, garnering 73% of the vote.
Our second set of matchups is perhaps our most compelling and competitive set of contests thus far in the tourney. The brilliantly dark and often overlooked Close Encounters Of The Third Kind faces off against Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, the most beloved of the Raiders’ reboots in the first matchup. The other contest features the weighty and impressive Schindler’s List against Minority Report, Spielberg’s deft retelling of the Philip K. Dick story.
Round Two - Part Two

Voting will close at 6:00 am on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Vote early and often and make sure that your friends, enemies, colleagues, co-workers, and neighbors are voting as well.
Cheers,
Matty C

Man, that MR vs. SL was a tough one.
For me, this ought to be E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial at the top, but I think objectively, there are seven correct answers to this poll: Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, and Saving Private Ryan. :)
