Round two barrels on with an esteemed literary adaptation, an adorable visitor who just wants to get home, a notorious fake, and a place where they've spared no expense.
I realy prefer Catch me if you can over JP. Jurassic Park films always sounded a lot like a great CGI achievements and little else. CIYC is simply awesome: great directing, great acting, great music...
I adore E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. It was the Damascus Road moment that converted me to cinema, aged seven. I may well republish a piece I wrote about this on Medium here at some point. But even leaving aside my personal reasons for loving this film (I have many) E.T. is an absolute classic and a singular masterpiece that has stood the test of time.

ET ovr the Color Purple is a no brainer really.
I love the first JP film, but I understand where you’re coming from. Catch Me is a sneaky good film. And yeah, ET is a shoe in there.

I for one, would love to read that piece. ET has a very special place in my heart.
I've just published it on Substack, but it's a subscribe only piece. However, just for you, here's a "friend link" link to the article on Medium: https://fanfare.pub/retro-rewind-how-e-t-the-extra-terrestrial-changed-my-life-8b981348f485?sk=8eb1e93d8e7fa43cc56b4ed11f4ebdb5
Goldblum is so damned god.
I agree completely
