What Is Your Favorite Song About The Light?
This week at WAIM, we wanna see the bright lights. We are pushing away the darkness of these shortest days of the year with a bit of brightness.
We have hit a stretch of the very shortest days of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere. Where I live in central Michigan the sun doesn’t rise until nearly 8:00 am and it descends just a whisker after 5:00 in the afternoon. Right now, even with ambient light before and after the sun rises and falls, we still only get about 9 hours of daylight per day. Sadly, they are all squeezed into the same hours most of us need to work.
In addition to the very short days in this part of the country, we are also subject to almost constant cloud coverage. As the Great Lakes cool down, they release moisture into the air which forms into heavy clouds that further darken our already short days.
