WAIM #048: Scene Of The Crime (Full Show)
We are ducking behind the caution tape this week at WAIM and entering the scene of the crime.
Is there a more captivating sight than a crime scene? As passersby, we cannot help but gawk at a traffic accident, a cop pulling over another driver, or the scene of an actual crime. Cops on the beat have always made perfect fodder for film and television. We have looked for evidence and canvassed for witnesses with the best detectives from New York (Law & Order), Baltimore (The Wire), San Francisco (The Maltese Falcon) and so many more.
This week at WAIM Radio we are taking a deep dive into musical crime scenes across the spectrum. There are stories of generations long blood feuds, murder sprees, and robbing from the rich to give back to the poor. We even have real life murderers like John Wayne Gary, The Kray brothers, and Robert Chambers, aka The Preppy Killer.
The hour is chock full of law breaking of one stripe or another. We’ve got everything from your innocent shoplifting offenses all the way up to that long walk to the electric chair.
What would you add to the hour? Do you have a favorite murder ballad or tune about breaking the law? Tell us all about it.
You can listen to the full show in the player above. Also be sure to check out the full tracklist to see everything that made the show.
Cheers,
Matty C
Also, I just noticed that you have a typo -- the Cure song is listed as "Kimming an Arab" :)
Nice!
Seeing "I've Got To Get A Message To You" reminds me of both "Take A Message To Mary" by the Everly Brothers and "Care of Cell 44" by the Zombies.
