Tour Update - Harrisburg, PA
A world class bookstore, a mediocre Civil War museum, and so much more hospitality.
As the sun came into my room in Kingston, NY, I awoke early and with a smile on my face. It had been an incredible night with friends in a marvelous setting. I felt grateful, groggy and excited for what the day might bring.
I made my way out to Red Hook, NY, a drive of about 20 minutes from downtown Kingston where I had played and slept the night before. My host Taffy has a kitchen and business in connection with a local market. I wanted to stop by to grab a coffee, get a hug for the road and say a big thanks one more time in person.
The drive to Red Hook took me across a lofty bridge with a gorgeous view of the Hudson River and the surrounding valley. It’s a stunning vista, especially so in the morning summer sun. I rolled down the windows of my borrowed Honda CRV and soaked in the setting. As my Grandad used to say, “Good day to be alive”.
Taffy and I spent a few minutes chatting as she made a raft of Caprese sandwiches for the grab and go cooler in the market next-door. I love watchi…
