Tour Diary: Crested Butte & Boulder, CO
After a pair of delightful days in New Mexico, I found myself high in the Colorado Rockies with new friends, cold beer, and natural splendor.
The Havemans and I were up just after 7:00 on Thursday morning. Scott already had coffee brewing as I came into the kitchen and I bade him a good morning. Suzie came down in fairly short order and we spent a few minutes reliving the night before and talking travel. Both Scott and Suzie had to jet off to various engagements before 9:00 am, so I slurped my last swig of coffee and hugged them both. I thanked them profusely for their friendship and for hosting such an amazing show. It’s a blessing to know such wonderful people.
Aretha and I were on the road, pointed northward as the sun shone in brilliantly through the passenger window. I leisurely guided us through the Jemez Mountains and forest of northern New Mexico. We sailed through a pair of gorgeous canyons directly west of Taos along State Hwy. 25. There was almost no other traffic on the road. The sky was crystal clear.
