Sunday Dinner & A Movie - Meat Sauce and 'The Godfather'
Learn how to make Matty's slow cook meat sauce and give yourself an excuse to watch a favorite one more time.
Sunday dinners are a long-standing tradition in the Carlson house. Growing up, our default plan for every Sunday in the colder months involved a slow cooked soup, stew, or sauce. My Dad would often begin working on Sunday dinner as soon as we returned home from church. Inevitably, the day would also likely include a heartbreaking loss by the Detroit Lions and my mother grading papers or working on lesson plans for the following day.
The slow pace of a lazy Sunday is still sacrosanct to us. Every Sunday that I have the chance to make a long-game meal and watch a movie with Hannah and/or Kimmy is a gift.
In an effort to bolster this tradition in my own home and to spread the word like gospel, I will be regularly sharing dinner and a movie ideas for your own Sunday slow cook. I’ll pair a dish and a film, give you the full recipe, and dive into the flick a bit too. Here’s to making your Sundays a bit slower, more deliberate, and more delicious.
