WAIM #035 - The Meaning Of Life [Full Show]
We dive deep into the marrow of life this week at WAIM Radio.
From the moment we first possessed sentient thought, humans have wondered why we are here and what our purpose on this planet is. These questions have nagged at human nature now for millennia, and we have used religion, philosophy, science, and mathematics to harness an answer. Still, the meaning of our lives is seemingly just beyond our collective grasp.
Where science cannot draw us a clear and concrete answer, poetry, music, and art have sought to clarify these questions in a different way. Instead of using calculations and formulae to delve into the heart of this universal query, art allows us space for our own definitions and interpretations. It gives us ideas more than answers, and in those ideas we may get closer to the truth of the question. It’s in that spirit, that we present an hour of songs on the meaning of life.
This week on the show, you’ll find charming twee-folk, 60’s folk-rock, a Liverpool twofer and a surprise treatise from northern New Jersey of all places. There are glimpses of aspirational disappointment, following the path of purity, and even a Canadian perspective.
Sit back, open your mind and let’s find the meaning of life together through song, one hour at a time. Be sure to check the full tracklist below for a full rundown of songs from this week’s show. And you can always go back and listen to old episodes any time in the WAIM Radio Archive.

Good set list, though the absence of female artists stood out to me. Women literally are the ones bringing life into the world, so not having any on this playlist feels unfortunate.
